OTTOMAN TURKEY, LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY
Of squat bulbous form, the tall tubular neck rising from a rounded ring to a bulbous lid with tapering finial hinged to the straight handle, the everted spout raised above the surface, the repoussé decoration of stylized foliage over punched ground, the base of the spout decorated with a grotesque mask, the handle with human mask and issuing a dragon's head, marked '443' under the foot, minor dents but otherwise in good condition
