Arabic manuscript on light pink and cream paper, 383ff. plus 2 fly-leaves, each folio with 15ll. of black naskh with gold roundel verse markers, catchwords, sura headings in white naskh on gold ground within illuminated panels, text within gold frames with black and red rules, with gold and polychrome marginal medallions marking juz', opening bifolio with floral illumination on gold ground, the fatiha and the first page of sura al-baqara in clouds, colophon signed Al-Sayyid 'Attar Mustafa Nuri min talamidh (pupil of) Muhammad Shawqi (Sevki) within cusped ovoid cartouche reserved against gold illuminated ground, minor marginal repairs, in gilt brown morcoo binding with flap, purple paper doublures
