The double-edged curving tapering watered steel blade with armour-piercing tip, pronounced medial ridge and reinforced cusped panel at the forte with gold damascened floral spray and calligraphy, the waisted mutton-fat jade hilt elegantly faceted and bordered with one cusped and one straight gold inlaid band, a single gold inset ruby at the top, the sheath decorated in silver repoussé with a design of floral sprays issuing from vases and surrounded by dense folige, a band of filigree cusping at the top and a dragon head at the bottom, with small attachment loop to one side
