Lot Essay

The approx. knot count is 7H x 7V per sq. cm.

One of the features of the"maharaja" carpets is the very varied and unusual choice of colours that have been used. The present carpet is another example. The light green field that is found here is a colour that is rare enough to find in details in Kashan weavings, let alone used as the main field colour.
