Contemporary blind-panelled half calf (joints splitting, front inner hinges split). Provenance: Henri Auguste de St. George (early signature on front pastedown).

Lauron's designs, first published c. 1711 and later copied by Boitard, are among the earliest in this genre and show the extraordinary variety of itinerant traders selling their wares or their skills on the streets of 18th-century London. Colas 1794; cf. Brunet III: 882; Lipperheide GCb1; Vinet 2188.
