maker's mark of Ernst Kadau I, Danzig, circa 1670
Cylindrical on domed foot, repoussé and chased with flowerheads and foliage, with flat border and moulded band above, the body repoussé and chased with three panels of flowers and foliage within auricular mask, scroll and foliage cartouches, with auricular scroll handle, the domed cover similarly chased and applied with reclining lion finial and bifucated pierced grosteque mask scroll thumbpiece, marked on base and cover
