Lot Essay

"The Royal Party immediately set off at a full gallop towards Mont Orgueil Castle. Passing St Saviour's Church. Without entering into any further particulars, it is sufficient to state that the Royal company passed rapidly to St Martin's church, and then directly to the venerable and grandly situated fortress of Mont Orgueil, which soon appeared in sight and whose high renown which has come down to us unimpaired through so many ages, could not fail to warmly excite the anticipations of the Royal visitors"
