CIRCA 1780, THE UPPER FRIEZE, SWAGS AND MASKS ADDED IN ITALY IN THE EARLY 19TH CENTURY
Each with mottled jasper top inset into a guilloche and rosette frieze centred by a bacchic mask and hung with garlands, on turned tapering stop-fluted and beaded legs joined by concave stretchers, one with printed paper label 'LUIGI GRASSI & SONS Paintings by Old Masters 94 Via Cavour FLORENCE', with batten-carrying holes beneath the swags, the legs later cut above the stretchers probably for movement
