Each with a later marble top above a shell carved frieze centred with a mask, on scrolled cabriole legs with foliate feet, redecorated, differences in carving and dimensions, adapted to form side tables with the addition of back legs and additional framing to the underside

These tables were almost certainly part of a larger series of related tables conceived for a château, where they would have been used in a large hall or salon. Subsequently altered in the 19th century, they would have been employed in a new position in the château.
