EARLY TWENTIETH CENTURY, STAMPED WITH AN ITALIAN POST-1938 STANDARD MARK FOR 18 CARAT GOLD
rectangular box with rounded corners, the hinged cover, base and sides engine-turned with a wavy reeded pattern, the cover set with a chased gold plaque depicting on the obverse the Baptism of Christ, and on the reverse the Adoration of the Magi, within a pie-crust polished gold border, incorporated push-piece sapphire-set thumbpiece
