The case with pierced repoussé basket top with double scroll handle and flanked by four later fruited finials, rectangular glazed side panels, and raised on later bun feet; the dial with cherub-cast spandrels to the chapter ring with Arabic and Roman numerals, enclosing a matted center, with date aperture, ringed winding holes and blued steel hands, with strike/not strike lever above XII; twin fusee movement, verge escapement with hour strike on bell and pull quarter repeat on three further bells, later backcock; the back plate with foliate engraving and signed Markwick, London; pendulum and winder
