EDO PERIOD (LATE 17TH CENTURY)

In the late 17th century, Delft faience was shipped from Holland as gifts to Japanese officials and noblemen, and these wares, decorated in Chinese transitional style, were to influence Japanese export ceramics such as the vase above.1
