A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED 'ACAJOU MOUCHETE' COMMODE
CIRCA 1780, STAMPED 'J.H.RIESENER'
The rounded rectangular and slightly breakfront fossile grey marble top above a fluted husk-filled frieze fitted with three drawers, above two long egg-and-dart bordered drawers with foliate wreath handles, the rounded angles with laurel-swagged clasps, the sides conformingly mounted, on turned tapering and fluted legs with toupie feet, stamped 'J.H.RIESENER', one long drawer stencilled to underside '80816', with oval red bordered label numbered '26869', one short drawer twice numbered '53272', the angle clasps replaced
33¾ in. (85.5 cm.) high; 39½ in. (100.5 cm.) wide; 21½ in. (54.5 cm.) deep
