His previous residence was a Thames Barge, which offered little scope for absorbing antique furniture and he was determined to make up for lost time attending house sales, all the London salerooms and all the dealers wherever he happened to be. In a comparatively short time and with great enjoyment he furnished his London house and country House in appropriate styles and a selection reflecting his eclectic taste in furniture is being offered here by order of his executors.
