The characteristic waisted jar with compressed body and widely flared rim, of sapphire-blue colour, with areas of crizzling

Lot Essay

Yongzheng-marked glass wares are very limited in number. The areas of crizzling, which is due to an excess amount of alkali in the preparation, a tendency seen in glass of the Kangxi period, and would suggest that this example may have been produced early in the Yongzheng reign.
