Lot Essay

Compare an opaque pale blue glass bottle vase of similar size and shape, illustrated by C.F. Shangraw and C. Brown, A Chorus of Colors: Chinese Glass from Three American Collections, Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, 1995, no. 51. See, also, the pink glass vase of similar shape, but slightly smaller size (37 cm. high), inscribed with a Qianlong four-character mark, sold at Christie's New York, 29 November 1990, lot 106.
