Lot Essay

The decoration and the bold, graceful style of the carving are similar to that of a transparent red glass bowl, with Qianlong mark, in the Andrew K.F. Lee Collection, illustrated in Elegance and Radiance, The Art Museum, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, 2000, no. 79.
