QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
Of compressed baluster form, each crisply carved through the thick layers of lacquer to depict a bat suspending a shou character flanked by a pair of carp, above a floral spray, all in a quatrefoil panel, surrounded by a lotus scroll and reserved on a diaper ground, the trumpet neck and splayed foot with archaistic leaf-form borders, mounted to a bronze backing for suspension
