A FINELY CARVED SOAPSTONE SQUARE SEAL AND AN AMBER OVAL SEAL
QING DYNASTY, 18TH/19TH CENTURY
The soapstone seal of square section surmounted by a recumbent lion, its mane and tail finely incised and facial features well-rendered, the base carved with four characters; the oval amber seal with a finial formed as a chilong emerging from swirling clouds, the base inscribed with five characters
The soapstone seal, 1 1/8 x 1/8 x 1/8 in. (2.8 x 2.1 x 2.1 cm.) (2)
