Circular, the centre painted with a genre scene depicting an elderly man carrying loaves of bread and a peasant woman peddling wares, within ciselé gilt waterleaf and tongue border and gilt band, the simulated malachite border with ciselé medallion and acanthus leaf pattern within beading, marked under base with blue underglaze factory mark, inscribed 'Le Porteur de Pains noir' and dated 1829
