A Porcelain Cup and Saucer
By the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St Petersburg, period of Nicholas I
Cylindrical with everted rim, the centre of the body finely painted with a lady in a brown muslin dress with an embroidered green cashmere turban adorning her hair, within gadrooned and reeded foliate gilt ciselé border, the pink ground painted with gilt ciselé continuous rosette-centred roundel frieze between stylised foliate borders, the handle formed as an upswept scroll with rosette, the interior gilt, the saucer with conforming decoration, marked under bases with blue overglaze factory mark (2)
