A Porcelain Cup and Saucer
By the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St Petersburg, period of Nicholas I
Cylindrical with everted rim, the centre of the body finely painted with a lady in historicising Renaissance dress with ermine-lined red cape, within foliate gilt ciselé border, the pink ground painted with gilt ciselé lozenge and scroll frieze further applied with relief gilt beading between beaded borders, the handle formed as a foliate scroll, the interior gilt, the saucer with conforming decoration, marked under bases with blue overglaze factory mark (2)
