By the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St Petersburg, period of Alexander II
Circular, with gilt scalloped rims, one centre painted with putti lighting a fire, the other with putti holding a bow and torch, the borders decorated with gilt and red trellis and scrollwork centring the crowned monogram of Grand Duke Alexander Alexandrovich (the future Emperor Alexander III), marked under bases with overglaze blue factory marks, one plate additionally marked under base with underglaze green factory mark
