Circular, the centre painted with officers and soldiers from the Life Guard Reserve Regiment Instructor Battalion, one officer mounted with tents and troops in the background, within a gilt rim, impressed and ciselé with a ribbon-tied wreath of laurel and oak leaves converging on the Imperial arms, inscribed on the reverse in Russian 'Instructor Battalion L[ife] G[uard] Reserve Regiment After the paint[ing] by Balashev [copied by] M. Ivanov. 1876 [yr.]', marked under base with underglaze green factory mark
