Probably Kholmogory, Archangelsk Region, early 19th Century
Oval, the ebonised wood border applied with pierced ivory plaques depicting classical gods and allegorical figures, the top border centred with the Imperial double-headed eagle in a pierced medallion, the bottom centred with St George in a medallion
16 in. (40.5 cm.) high
