Contemporary green straight-grained morocco, covers with wide red onlaid morocco, roll-tooled border, blind stamped cornerpieces, gilt centerpieces with initials "M.M.L.," spine in five compartments with four double-raised bands, gilt-lettered "Mes Pensées" in one compartment, a repeated gilt-studded panel in the rest, blue endpapers with gilt border, gilt and gauffered edges concealing a DOUBLE FORE-EDGE PAINTING OF TWO RIVER SCENES (hinges and corners lightly rubbed, endpapers loose).
