Contemporary fawn straight-grained morocco, covers with four large wedge shapes densely gilt-tooled and pointing to the center leaving a large blind X-shaped central design extending outwards to the corners, spine in four compartments, gilt and gilt-lettered, edges gilt concealing a fore-edge painting of WINDSOR CASTLE (upper hinge split); modern quarter leather folding case. Provenance: Duchess of Gloucester (gift inscription dated February 1824 from Fanny Williams); Estelle Doheny (her sale Christie's Camarillo California, 2 February 1988, lot 648).
