Second edition, published one year after the Greenfield, 1797 edition, of the first American architecture book. "There is scarcely a village which in moulding profiles, cornice details, church spire, or farm-house does not reflect his influence" (DAB). RARE: according to American Book Prices Current, no complete copy of this work in first or second edition has sold at auction in at least 30 years. No explanatory text for plates 9-10, 17-18, and 29-33 as issued. Evans 33399.
