The following wines have recently been removed from cellarage in northern Spain where the wines had lain since purchase from the individual Bodegas themselves
The collection covers a remarkable array of producers from the Rioja region from the well-known names of Marqués de Murrieta, Marqués de Riscal and La Rioja Alta to lesser known classical producers such as Bodegas Riojanas, Bodegas Bilbaínas and Bodegas Franco-Españolas
As is to be expected from a collection this size, a large number of vintages are also represented, going as far back as 1935 and ending at 2004. A brief guide to the vintages has been included in the catalogue for those readers not familiar with the differences. The great vintages are well represented in particular 1964 and 1970 and I would like to highlight the wines from Bodegas La Rioja Alta (lots 625 to 673) which epitomize old-style classic Rioja
A large number of these wines will be available for pre-sale tasting.
