A PALMYRENE LIMESTONE FIGURE OF A MAN
CIRCA 2ND CENTURY A.D.
From a relief, standing with his weight on his right leg, his left slightly advanced and bent at the knee, the left arm bent in and gripping a strap, his right arm bent up and out, wearing a Parthian-style long-sleeved belted tunic over trousers, with embroidered floral patterns along the hem, cuffs and down the front, beading along the collar, the trousers similarly ornamented down the front, the head with a fringe of wavy locks along the forehead, with straight lips and thin arching brows, the articulated almond-shaped eyes with thick lids
