A GREEK GLASS BOWL
HELLENISTIC PERIOD, SYRO-PALESTINIAN, CIRCA MID 2ND-EARLY 1ST CENTURY B.C.
Amber in color, sagged, conical in form, the rim rounded, the straight sides tapering toward the convex base, with a wheel-cut groove on the exterior below the rim, and two grooves lower on the body framing a band roughly etched on the surface, another groove on the interior below the rim
4 in. (10.2 cm.) high
Provenance
Norton Collection of Ancient Glass, Canada, acquired in the 1960s.
Thence by descent to a Canadian Private Collection.
