A RHODIAN POTTERY FIGURAL ARYBALLOS
ARCHAIC PERIOD, CIRCA 560 B.C.
In the form of a leg, well modelled, with tapering thigh and bulging calf, wearing a pointed-toe boot decorated with crosshatching on the tongue and a large palmette at the center, a small rosette on either side, with a facing feline head on the knee, the vessel with a short cylindrical neck and wide disk rim, the base of the shoulder with a thin band of ovolo, rayed petals on the shoulders, a rosette on the mouth, dots and short vertical lines on the rim
