One with a bearded soldier, armed in a high-crested Corinthian helmet, greaves, a spear and a shield, a dog beside him, vines in the field, framed by rows of dots, key and palmettes above, ivy on the rim, details in added white; and one with two dancing maenads, each draped in an animal pelt over a patterned chiton, an ivy vine in between, ivy above, details in added red and white
Taller: 9 3/8 in. (23.8 cm.) high (2)
Provenance
Acquired by the owner's grandfather in Rome and brought into the U.S. in the late 1940s.
