AN 18K GOLD, DIAMOND AND BLACK ENAMEL MINAUDIERE, BY VAN CLEEF & ARPELS
Of rectangular outline, the engine-turned pink gold case with polished gold borders, one corner with small thumb-piece sliding to reveal a watch, the rectangular white dial with Arabic chapters and Breguet blued-steel hands, the pierced pavé-set diamond scalloped thumb-piece opening to reveal a fitted mirror and black enamel interior comprising from left to right, a removable powder compact; a rectangular compartment with glass hinged lid; a lighter; a smaller and a larger rectangular compartment; two oval pill holders; a concealed comb; a cigarette compartment and two lipstick holders, one being removable, circa 1935, 19.5 x 13.0 x 2.2 cm., with French assay marks
