Provenance: 'V de T' (pencil presentation inscription dated 1920 to:) -- Hedworth Meux. FIRST EDITION. Keynes was principal representative of the British Treasury at the Peace Conference in 1919, but resigned in protest at the terms imposed on the Central Powers and wrote this prophetic analysis. Admiral of the Fleet The Hon Sir Hedworth Meux GCB KCVO, formerly The Hon Hedworth Lambton (1856-1929), famously led the Naval Brigade to relieve British forces in the Siege of Ladysmith.
