FIRST EDITION, PRESENTED BY THE AUTHOR, WITH BUTTERFLY DRAWINGS, TO HIS SISTER-IN-LAW, Sonia Slonim. One butterfly is drawn on the half-title, with the inscription, in Russian: 'To Sonia from Volodia'; another is on a piece of Doubleday letterhead fixed to the front endpaper, and two further, small butterfly drawings appear on other preliminary leaves. Sonia Slonim was part of the Nabokov's close family circle after emigrating to the United States. Juliar A30.1.
