A RHEINISH SALT-GLAZED 'TIGERWARE' JUG WITH SILVER MOUNTS
LATE 16TH/17TH CENTURY
Of globular form with short cylindrical neck and loop handle, covered in a lustrous mottled brown glaze, the silver collar engraved with various birds including a dove, eagle and peacock amongst flowering branches, with the initials 'LF' over 'SF', the top part of the handle fitted with a thumb-rest engraved with a stylised leaf
