A fine and unusual Swiss 18K gold skeletonized openface quarter repeating cylinder watch with varicoloured gold four jaquemarts automaton cuvette bearing the signature Breguet & Fils, No. 119, circa 1820
Full plate gilt-finished movement, quarter repeating on two gongs, gilt cuvette, dial with Breguet numerals on white enamel chapter ring, skeletonized centre surmounted by a varicoloured gilt scene depicting the interior of a blacksmith's workshop, the blacksmith grinding a knife while his assistant is driving a wheel, surmounted by two putti striking the bells, all apparently in unison with the repeating, circular case, engine-turned hinged back, repeating through the pendant, cuvette signed and numbered, 4.5cm wide, with later fitted case
