Lot Essay

Geertjan Visser was, together with his brother Martin, one of the main and most influencial collectors of his generation in the Netherlands. Over 400 works of their impressive collection are now in the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo. The collection included works from artists like Lucio Fontana, Anselm Kiefer and Bruce Nauman. Geertjan was also an enthusiastic supporter of the art of his third brother, sculptor Carel Visser, of whom he had a large collection as well.
