Bronze metallic with dark brown leather trim.
Engine: flat four-cylinder all aluminium "boxer", single overhead camshaft per bank, single twin choke Weber carburettor, 2,484cc, 140bhp at 5,400rpm; Transmission: front wheel drive through a five speed manual gearbox; Suspension: MacPherson strut with offset, coil springs and anti-roll bars; Steering: power assisted rack and pinion; Brakes: servo assisted, outboard ventilated discs all round. Left-hand drive.
With the Gamma, Lancia returned to the prestige car market in 1978 for the first time since the Flaminia. The new model was launched as something of a quality flagship for the whole Fiat Group - not including Ferrari - and was the replacement for the Fiat 130 saloon and coupe. The Gamma was offered in saloon form as the Berlina and in coupe form as the Gran Turismo. The design was new throughout with nothing borrowed from elsewhere within the Fiat Group. The Lancia Gamma's flat four 2½ litre engine was compact and light and produced abundant torque while the chassis gave first class handling and road-holding.
It is most unusual to find a truly unique motor car. In the case of this Lancia Gamma Scala that is precisely what it is. Using the Gamma floor pan, engine and running gear, Pininfarina clothed it in his individual styling for a four door, four seater saloon which was unveiled at the 1980 Paris Show. Only this one example was built and it remained in the Collezloine Pininfarina until purchased by the present owner.
It is in "as-new" condition, has covered about 12,000kms and has been used regularly - and very carefully - by the present owner. The bronze metallic finish is excellent as is the original brown full leather interior trim. The roof lining is also, unusually, in leather and the front seats are electrically adjustable with "memory"; it has air-conditioning and a radio. It comes with manuals, press material and Pininfarina releases.
This is an exceptional opportunity to own a true "one-off" by a major coachbuilder. The car has German documents.
