The reverse of the mirror painted with a young couple, he playing a flute, seated in a riverscape with Western buildings in the background, within a yellow floral surround, joined to the greyish-celadon jade handle with gilt-metal mounts, the handle with an inscription with the characters 'chang le tai ping' which may be translated as 'endless joy and peace'
