Each with a turned pin with a hole for a steel attaching pen, issuing a shaped loop headed by griffin heads with grotesque boss and ribbed sides

Lot Essay

The present handles are depicted on a watercolour by J. Fabius from ca. 1850, and on a watercolour by Willem Johan Boogaard (1842-1888) from 1856. Both works are in the collection of Kennemerland.
