With Patek Philippe wallet, tag, spare buckle and Extract from the Archives confirming dates of manufacture and sale.
The present example is in outstanding overall condition. The case is in near mint condition still retaining the original factory sticker to the case back and original swing tag.
Reference 2499
Heir to the legendary Patek Philippe reference 1518, the world's first perpetual calendar wristwatch with chronograph function, the reference 2499 was introduced to the market in 1950 and is acknowledged to be one of the most coveted wristwatches of all time. It is undisputedly an icon of horological artistry. The reference 2499 perfectly embodies Patek Philippe's technological and artistic know-how, and has greatly inspired and influenced the configurations of many important wristwatches, needless to mention its successors the reference 3970 and 5970.
Over a period of 35 years, reference 2499 was made in four series in a total production of only 349 pieces, the majority cased in yellow gold. The rarity of this model becomes evident when considering that an annual average of only 9 watches left Patek Philippe's workshops.
