CIRCA 1794, THE FIRST PERHAPS LIVERPOOL
The first transfer-printed with a portrait of Earl Howe in profile to the left, within an inscription commemorating the Glorious First of June 1794 below the reverse with a sea battle within a C-scroll cartouche, the second with 'ARMS OF THE UNITED STATES' above an American eagle supporting a banner with the motto 'E.PLURIBUS UNUM', above 'MAY SUCCESS ATTEND OUR AGRICULTURE TRADE AND MANUFACTURERS.' and the reverse with 'COME BOX THE COMPASS', cracked and chipped, slight wear throughout
