Printed in black after Robert Hancock with the arms and demi lion rampant crest of Marke of Liskard, on a pale-red ground enriched in gilding, with the motto 'PAR SIT FORTUNA LABORI', the reverse with a half-length portrait of the King of Prussia within a scrolling banner, inscribed 'RH. Worcester' before an anchor rebus, with military trophies and the interior with a figure of Fame, small rim chip, very light wear to enamels and gilding

Lot Essay

This bowl is part of an armorial service made for the Marke family of Cornwall. The coffee-cup and saucer from this service are illustrated by Simon Spero and John Sandon, in Worcester Porcelain 1751-1790, the Zorensky Collection, Suffolk, 1996, p. 385, no. 500.
