MARK OF ANDREW FOGELBERG, LONDON, 1774
Vase-shaped, the square plinth on four leaf-capped scroll feet with a band of acanthus foliage and beaded border, the spigot realistically formed as a serpent with ivory tap, the urn with two leaf-capped handles each terminating in a ram's mask, with an applied band of acanthus foliage and water leaves, the detachable cover with pineapple finial, with two cartouches formed as laurel swags, one engraved with a coat-of-arms, the other with a rosette, further engraved on cover and near the base with a crest, marked under base, on base of body, cover bezel and finial

The arms are those of Ffolkes quartering Hovell and Browne, almost certainly for Sir Martin Browne Ffolkes, 1st Bt. (1740-1821). He was created a baronet in 1774 and married Fanny (d.1813), daughter and co-heir of Sir John Turner Bt. of Warham, Norfolk, in 1777. He was a Fellow of the Royal Society and served as M.P. for King's Lynn.
