Decorated with the crowned monogram of Nicholas II below the dates 1799 and 1899, flanked by a portrait of Maria Feodorovna and a figure of cavalier guard officer dressed in the uniform from the period of Napoleonic war

Lot Essay

This beaker commemorates the centenary of the Cavalier Guard (Kavalergardsky) Regiment of Her Imperial Majesty Empress Maria Feodorovna, the most elite regiment of the Imperial Guards. These beakers were purportedly made for a jubilee regimental dinner attended by the Imperial family.
