Lot Essay

Ron Cooper started his career as an artist in Los Angeles in the 1960's. His work explores light, reflection, transparency and color, through the medium of colored fluorescent lights, neon, and glass. Cooper is one of a small group of Los Angeles artists and friends - Dennis Hopper, Larry Bell, Ken Price, Ron Davis and Dean Stockwell amongst them - who made Taos their first or second home from the late 1960's onwards.
