The superstructure surmounted by a white marble top with a pierced three-quarter gallery, above a tambour shutter and three short drawers, the base with a hinged writing flap concealing two well-slides flanking a central lift-up mirror, above a short frieze drawer, the sides with flower-filled trellis parquetry, on cabriole legs, joined by a shaped tier later decorated with marquetry vases and inscribed 'J'ai été reposé que G(...)/Hefs ébéniste à/Faubourg 1865', the back similarly decorated, stamped 'A. L. GILBERT' and 'JME', re-mounted
