Similar in execution to a group of early drawings after garden statues, probably those at the Villa Cordellina at Monteghio Maggiore, which were also drawn by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. For examples of drawings from this series, see J. Bean and B. Griswold, Italian Drawings in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 1990, nos. 246-7.
